2012 ARTISTS FOR OVARIES

The 4th Annual Artists for Ovaries was huge success. Our committee of volunteers did a wonderful job and we appreciate everyone that came out to support our cause. It is exciting to see this event grow to over 325 in attendance. We had a good mix of past supporters and new faces. What a joy to see! A lot of great art and baskets went home with excited supporters. Thank you!!!

2012 Teal Night in Tahiti

This event marked the first event for the AROVCC River Valley Chapter. It was held at the Golden Living Center with a night filled with dinner, dancing, silent auctions and jewelry drawing. The RV chapter raised over $25,000 dollars at this event to further our mission to educate women in the Fort Smith/River Valley region of Arkansas. Thank you to all of our great supporters! This event was FUN, FUN, FUN!
5th Annual Awareness Rally
Friday, September 7, 2012 | 4:00 p.m. | Rivermarket Pavilion, Little Rock, AR
Rally at the River!! We released over 150 balloons from the banks of the Arkansas River to remember the 150 lives that were lost in 2011 from ovarian cancer. Guests enjoyed teal colored punch, tea and cookies adorned with teal ribbons. Senator Jonathon Dismang read the Governor Beebe’s Proclamation declaring September Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Senator Linda Chesterfield spoke on the importance of access to healthcare and quality medical facilities to help prevent ovarian cancer. Emma and Arden Elliott, daughter of survivor Leah Elliott, spoke about their experience watching their mom beat ovarian cancer. Dr. Rebecca Stone, a Gynecological Oncologist with UAMS addressed the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.
Family and friends were able purchase additional 36″ balloons and attach their own message to release.
A big thank you to CRAIN AUTOMOTIVE for their donation of the balloons and helium and the Ed’s Gourmet Bakery for the wonderful teal ribbon cookies!!

The River Valley chapter of AROVCC held a beautiful release of butterflies in memory of the women we have lost to ovarian cancer and in celebration of ladies who are surviving the disease. It was a great event and wonderful to see all of supporters decked out in their teal.

I’ve done Race for the cure, but my heart is never all the way in it i want to be involved with an organization that my mom would be proud of.
